A former boxer turned mini-bus driver was shot in the head in Festival City at about 8:15 pm today in what relatives suggested was an execution-stylekilling.
Linden Mortley of Sussex Street, Charlestown was shot to the side of his head at Busta Bridge, which leads out of Festival City into Guyhoc in the city. Mortley was a well-known boxer in the 90s.
“Why he go for …is dead he go for”, his father, Cyril Mortley said last night. Another relative said that Mortley was picked up by persons he knew before he was killed. His pockets were emptied. Police are investigating.
