(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO – Yesterday, the turbine that will be transported to Gran Olo to supply Poeketie with electricity was revealed. The turbine (4.8 tons) will first be transported to Albina and from there to Gran Olo. It can be compared to the construction at the Brokopondo reservoir but is a smaller version. Water from the Gran Olo Falls will be used to operate the turbine that has a 150-kilowatt capacity. The entire project costs around SRD 700,000 and will be financed from the remaining Treaty Means and the Ministry of Regional Development.
