Suriname MP to ask questions about big China projects

(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO — Parliamentarian Carl Breeveld will ask questions regarding the planned big infrastructural projects in Parliament in reaction on statements from Chinese Ambassador Yuan Nansheng. Saturday, Yuan told de Ware Tijd that Suriname and China have not yet made concrete agreements about the intended mega-projects. According to Breeveld, the government has created that impression and he wants clarity about this matter. He adds that he does not think it a good idea if Suriname commits itself to only one big nation for financial aid as this can result in problems in a short time span if only one country decides everything for you and “that is not want we want”.
