Jamaica cops seek Gaza Slim

(Jamaica Gleaner) Another artiste linked to popular Jamaican entertainer Vybz Kartel is facing criminal charges in relation to one of the cases brought against him.

Police officials confirmed last night that entertainer Gaza Slim, whose given name is Vanessa Saddler, was a person of interest, but declined to give details.

However, police investigators told The Gleaner they have evidence showing that Saddler filed a false police report to assist Kartel’s defence in the Clive Williams murder case.

In a statement released late yesterday, Karl Angell, the director of communications for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, said despite numerous attempts, detectives have not been able to locate Saddler.

“Saddler is asked to report to police personnel at the Constant Spring Police Station by noon tomorrow (today),” Angell said in the statement.

This development came the same day Kartel, whose given name is Adidja Palmer, was granted J$3-million bail in relation to the other charges brought against him arising from the murder of businessman Barrington Burton.

However, the controversial artiste was unable to take up the offer because he has another case pending, arising from the slaying of Clive Williams in Havendale, St Andrew, in August.

This case is scheduled to be mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today.

His attorneys have indicated that they would also seek bail for Palmer in that case.

Other members of Palmer’s entourage who are jointly charged with Williams’ killing include entertainer Shawn Campbell, better known as ‘Shawn Storm’, and fashion designer Calvin Haye.
