The police say they are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 2010h yesterday at Freeman Street, East La Penitence, during which businessman Lester Delon, 46 years, was attacked and robbed by a man armed with a firearm.
Police say that investigations revealed that Delon was walking along the roadway on his way home when he was confronted by the armed man. Delon began to run and was pursued by his attacker who discharged a round which struck him to his right foot, causing him to fall.
The armed man then took away Delon’s jewellery and escaped, police said. The victim was taken to the GPHC where he was treated and sent away.
