Armed bandits grab $10M from Western Union

Armed bandits held up the Western Union Outlet at Church Street, Georgetown last night and escaped with $10 million and cell phones.

According to a police press release, the armed robbery occurred at about 21:45 hours. Investigations have revealed that employees Maria Pires, 20, and Samantha Adonis, 32, were in the business place when they were held up by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The perpetrators then took away $10 million along with the victims’ cell phones and escaped on a motorcycle, the police said.

Investigations are in progress.
