PPP postpones congress to focus on elections

The PPP today announced that its 30th Congress which was due this year has been postponed so that the party can concentrate on general elections due later this year.

This was one of the decisions taken at the party’s central committee meeting on August 6th.

A statement from the party said: “The Central Committee agreed to postpone the holding of the Party’s 30th Congress which was constitutionally due this year in order to focus its full attention on the upcoming elections. A motion to this effect was unanimously approved by the Central Committee”.
