According to the information reaching this newspaper, the couple had an argument in their Lot 309 Rohinital Street, Prashad Nagar home just after 2 am. The man minutes later told Kerr’s sister Carolina Welcome who lives in the lower flat of the couple’s home, that he had just shot his partner.

Joseph, a gold miner and licensed firearm holder assured Welcome that the injuries Kerr sustained were not life threatening. He later handed Kerr’s brother who was staying with the couple at the time some money and instructed that she be taken to the hospital. He then calmly walked out of the yard.

That evening he surrendered to police at Kitty Police Station and lodged his firearm.
