Granger, Ramjattan to address youth issues at symposium

Opposition presidential hopefuls David Granger and Khemraj Ramjattan will be among the featured speakers at a youth symposium to be held today.

The symposium is part of activities organised by the Community College School of Secondary Education, in observance of its fifth anniversary. In a statement, the Community College said the meeting is intended to help youths recognise the importance of education in charting a course for individual and national development. It is also aimed at giving youth, and especially first time voters, access to the current crop of prospective presidents of Guyana, and to have the candidates address issues relevant to youth development in particular, and national development as a whole.

The College identified APNU candidate Granger and AFC candidate Ramjattan as speakers. It added that PPP/C candidate Donald Ramotar had been invited but declined.

The College also hopes to use the function to introduce itself as a source of full time and part time tuition for individuals seeking to acquire certification at the Caribbean Examinations Council’s Caribbean Secondary Educa-tion Certificate (CSEC) examinations.
The symposium is to be held at the National Library’s Conference Hall at 10am.
