Thank you for your promotional article ‘Deaf Got Talent’ in The Scene last Saturday. It turned out to be a great show and I take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed to it, on-stage and off-stage. The audience clearly showed their appreciation and this, in turn, was reflected in the artistes’ performance.
A necessary correction: Support for Deaf in Guyana’s drama programme, including Daniel Ilaire’s internship, came from VSO Guyana with funding from the European Union; Scotia Bank had sponsored two deaf students to participate in the recently concluded Daphne Rogers Art Summer School at the University of Guyana.
Some of the students’ work was exhibited at the Theatre Guild (most of it had disappeared mysteriously before the show opened).
