“The continuous success of sport comes through the dedication of athletes and those sponsors who make it all happen,” Babb said.

He said that as a good corporate entity they are always seeking avenues to offer support and since the organisers have indicated that the event has a bright future, especially for the development of local athletes, it became necessary for them to be back on board, the release noted.

Jefford in his response first thanked the company for its continued support and show of confidence in the Classic and assured that they are putting everything in place to ensure that this year’s edition exceeds  the previous one.

Meanwhile Jefford also pointed to the much anticipated attendance of world class Guyanese 400 metres specialist, Aliann Pompey who will be arriving on May 19, noting  the high quality of competition that track & field fans could expect come May 22 at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground.
