At about 0230h today, police say a man armed with a handgun entered the home of Margaret Griffith, 59 years of Bent Street, Georgetown, and held her at gunpoint.
The man took away a quantity of jewellery and then abducted Griffith’s niece Ashanti Payne, 18 years.
Quick response by the police led to a search on a house at ‘D’ Field, Sophia, at about 0730h. today where Payne was found. An unlicensed .32 Taurus revolver with five rounds was also found and a man has been arrested, according to police.
Investigations are ongoing.
