A woman was found dead in her Craig, East Bank Demerara home with her throat slit this afternoon, after a suspected robbery.
Dead is 54-year-old Sita Reddy. Her husband made the gruesome discovery around 1:30 pm and immediately alerted residents.
It is believed that the mother of six was the victim of a robbery.
About three weeks ago, Reddy started selling chicken from her home. A resident told investigators that shortly before the discovery she saw when three men entered the yard apparently under the pretext of buying chicken. No one recalled hearing any strange noises.
When Stabroek News left the area police were still at the scene.
