Cop interviews going hi-tech in Barbados

(Barbados Nation) Technology for a more transparent system of interviews and identification of crime suspects by the Royal Barbados Police Force will soon be in use in Barbados.

Attorney General Adriel  Brathwaite promised yesterday to have the legislative framework for its use in place after witnessing a demonstration of a computerized interviewing process for crime suspects at District A Police Station.

Brathwaite said existing legislation should be amended within the next six months to govern use of the technology installed at five police stations.

Speaking to the media at Police Headquarters, the Attorney General said that the technology was going “to play a significant part in how we will address crime in the future.”
