CLIC0 probe drawing more regional interest

(Barbados Nation) Two more regional governments have reacted to the CLICO International Life (CIL) forensic audit report.

In a brief statement to the SUNDAY SUN yesterday, Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said his country was as interested as any in the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

“We want it to be thorough, transparent and unambiguous in how we remedy this situation and also how we effect measures to avoid its recurrence,” said Skerrit, who is also hopeful that the matter can find its way onto the agenda of the next meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government.

“It is that important!” he said.

Earlier this week, his Kittitian counterpart Dr Denzil Douglas told reporters in Basseterre that “with what is unfolding out of the forensic report that just came out, it would appear as if persons are going to be pursued definitely for fraud”.
