Guyanese woman for court today over murder of T&T engineer

(Trinidad Express) A Guyanese woman and two local men are expected to be taken to court today charged with the murder of Gasparillo engineer Andre Joachim.

The woman, aged 29, and two Siparia men, ages 29 and 43, were charged on Friday after instructions were issued by Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard.

Police said the woman, who was a known con artist, had been wanted by the police in connection with numerous fraud cases. She had been sought by the police for the last seven years, and had been living in Trinidad illegally for 12 years.

Joachim was found dead, bound with duct tape and gagged with a piece of cloth, at his home at Springlands on June 29.

Police said they were informed by a caller with a Guyanese accent that a robbery was in progress at the house.

When they responded, they found the house ransacked and Joachim dead.

An autopsy concluded that he died after he choked to death on the cloth in his mouth.

The trio are expected to be taken before a San Fernando Magistrate.
