Bajan AG not in favour of govt investment in Four Seasons

(Barbados Nation) If Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite had his way, the Government would not have committed itself to investing in the stalled Four Seasons project.

The project came to an abrupt halt when the global financial crisis erupted and took a heavy toll on rich and poor countries alike.

According to Brathwaite, who is also Minister of Home Affairs, Four Seasons is a private sector endeavour and Government should have allowed its investors to resolve their financial challenges without getting involved.

Although he saw the presence of a Four Seasons hotel in Barbados as beneficial to the island’s tourism industry, given the chain’s stellar reputation, he felt its private investors should have been left to deal with their financial challenges on their own.
