Linden probe enquiry terms not publicized yet

Despite assurances that the Terms of Reference for the Commission of Inquiry into the Linden killings would be ready by 2 pm today they were still not publicized up to 6 pm today.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr Roger Luncheon had said that Attorney General Anil Nandlall would have made a statement in parliament on the matter but there has been none so far.

Sources told this newspaper today that the final touches are being made following a meeting last night. The sources give all assurances that the deadline will be met.

President Donald Ramotar had set today – August 2 as the deadline for the terms of reference to be presented. Luncheon and APNU’s Joseph Harmon have been handed this task. They have been meeting regularly. Critics had said that the two sides had had too much time for the Terms of Reference. The two sides have been working at it since July 20.
