(Jamaica Gleaner) A Westmoreland woman is in custody after she bludgeoned her common-law husband at their home in Bluefields in the parish.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Clayton Smith, otherwise called “Stetea” of Red Gate in Bluefields.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reports that about 3 a.m.
Saturday, an argument developed between Mr Smith and his common-law wife at home.
During the quarrel, the woman reportedly used a sledge hammer to hit Mr Smith in the head. He was subsequently taken to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where he was pronounced dead, and the woman was taken into custody.
