(Jamaica Gleaner) Jamaica’s Usain Bolt is among three runners shortlisted for the 2012 male athlete of the year award.
The other contenders are Aries Merritt of the United States and Kenya’s David Rudisha.
In a release this morning, the world governing body for athletics, the IAAF said
Bolt, Merrit and Rudisha emerged on top following a three-week poll.
The winners of the 2012 World Athlete of the Year Awards will be announced live, on stage, during a special awards ceremony as part of the IAAF Centenary Celebrations, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain on November 24.
