General Manager of Starr Computers Rehman Majeed said that the splendid medical work being done by the Centre under the directorship of Guyanese-born surgeon Dr Surendra Persaud served as a symbol of inspiration to the local business community and ought to encourage corporate citizens to contribute to the upkeep of the facility. Most of the resources garnered to run the facility including the building in which it operates have been donated by the Doobay family. Dr Budhendra Doobay, the organisation’s President is an eminent Guyanese Canadian Philanthropist and cardio-vascular surgeon, who has received a number of awards, including the order of Ontario.
