Police say that at about 2315h last night, Marlon Ramcharran, 18 years, and Bisnauth Drepaul Singh, 21 years, were imbibing along with three other men at Ramcharran’s home at Tain, Corentyne, when a car drove up and five men exited, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
Police say that it is reported that the five men entered the premises and enquired about the whereabouts of a man to which Ramcharran and the others replied in the negative. At this stage the men took hold of Ramcharran and Drepaul Singh and forced them into their vehicle and drove away.
At about 0530h today, police said that Ramcharran’s father received a phone call from him in which he stated that their abductors had put them off at the Berbice Car Park, Georgetown.
During the journey to Georgetown they were assaulted by the men who kept enquiring about the man, police said.
Investigations are in progress.
