Duo held in $1.5M store break-in caught red-handed -police

Two men were yesterday charged with a $1.5M break and enter and larceny, after they were allegedly caught red handed inside the Super Songs CD and Electronics Store, at Cornhill Street, in Georgetown.

Police said Deryck Norton, 25, of Cooper Street, Albouystown and Osafo Denhert, 18, of Meadow Brook Gardens, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry-Sewnarine. Norton was placed on $50,000 bail while Denhert was remanded to prison

According to police, acting on information received, police ranks went to the store and arrested the two men, who were inside at about 3:30am on Thursday. They had allegedly broken into the store through a door and stole a quantity of digital cameras, MP3 players and camcorders, valued $1.5 million.
