No evidence of attempted `palace coup’ – Bajan PM

(Barbados Nation) There’s no evidence to show there was an attempted “palace coup” against Prime Minister Freundel Stuart by an Eager Eleven.

Speaking a year after commenting on reports of a divide within the parliamentary group of the ruling Democratic Labour Party, Stuart told the SUNDAY SUN yesterday there was no proof of such within his Government.

“There is no evidence available to me, there was no evidence available to me, that there was any attempted coup in the Government,” he stated during an interview at his annual Christmas party at the Prime Minister’s official residence Ilaro Court.

“I lead a Government that is united, that is working hard, and people are trying to carry out the undertakings we gave in our manifesto so far as is possible within the context of the economic constraints within which we’re operating, and that is where that matter is.”
