Adele, Rihanna, Lil Wayne lead 2012 Billboard Music Awards finalists

(Billboard) Adele, LMFAO, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne lead the finalists for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, which will take place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand and be broadcast live Sunday May 20, 8/7c on ABC.

Adele takes the lead as a finalist in 18 award categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist. “Rolling In The Deep,” the lead single from her blockbuster sophomore album ‘21’, places the UK singer as a contender in seven song categories.

The Top Artist nominees are: Adele, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

The nominees for Top New Artist are: Bad Meets Evil, Big Sean, Foster The People, Scotty McCreery and Wiz Khalifa

Those vying for Top Male Artist are: Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Drake, Lil Wayne and Bruno Mars. And on the distaff side: Adele, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

Top Duo/Group nominees are: The Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Lady Antebellum, LMFAO and Maroon 5.

Top Billboard 200 Artist nominees are: Adele, Justin Bieber, Michael Buble, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne.

Nominees for Top Hot 100 Artist are: Adele, LMFAO, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

Adele is also nominated for Top Digital Songs Artist along with: LMFAO, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Rihanna; as well as for Top Radio Songs Artist along with: Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.

The Top Touring Artist nominees are: Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, Take That, U2 and Roger Waters.

Top Social Artist nominees are: Justin Bieber, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Shakira.

Lil Wayne, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars and Rihanna are the nominees for Top Streaming Artist. Meanwhile for Top Digital Media Artist, the nominees are: Adele, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne and Rihanna.

Adele goes head to head again with Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Katy Perry and Rihanna for the Top Pop Artist award.

New mommy Beyonce is nominated for Top R&B Artist along with Chris Brown, Cee Lo Green, Miguel and Rihanna.

The Top Rap Artist category has: Drake, Lil Wayne, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and Wiz Khalifa.

Top Country Artist nominees are: Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellumn, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift.

The Top Rock Artist category will pit The Black Keys, Coldplay, Foster The People, Foo Fighters and Mumford & Sons against each other.

The Top Alternative Artist nominees are: The Black Keys, Coldplay, Foster The People and Mumford & Sons

The Top Latin Artist nominees are: Mana, Pitbull, Prince Royce, Romeo Santos and Shakira.

The nominees for Top Dance Artist are David Guetta, Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Rihanna and Britney Spears.

The Top Christian Artist nominees are: Casting Crowns, MercyMe Skillet, Laura Story and Chris Tomlin.
