Cabinet clears over $2B worth of contracts

Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon today reported that Cabinet has offered its ‘no objection’ to several contracts in various sectors totalling more than $2B.

According to the Government Information Agency (GINA) he listed the contracts as follows:

Agriculture – Drainage and Irrigation Procurement of super long reach hydraulic excavators for the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority  – $299.4M

Housing and Water Construction of roads, drains and structures from Herstelling to Diamond, EBD, Region 4 – in 10 lots aggregately – $1, 216.1M

Finance Supply, delivery and installation for hardware and software for the Disaster Recovery System, Ministry of Finance – US$205,000

Security Procurement of spares for the Bell 412 helicopter  -US$105,000

Environment Construction of the Protected Areas Commission Headquarters, National Park, Thomas Lands  -$28.0M

National Security Docking and repairs of National Flagship GDF Essequibo -$32.3M

Energy (GPL) Construction of the fuel wharf, fuel pipeline for the 26 mw Wartsila Generator Project, Vreed en Hoop – $242.1M

Legal Aid Supply, installation, configuration and wiring of air conditioned units of the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court -S24.7M

Housing and Water Upgrade of roads Amelia’s Ward, Phase 1 B, Linden 2 lots – $168.6M
