Chinese businessman stabbed to death in Jamaica

(Jamaica Observer) KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police are continuing a manhunt for the criminal who attacked and stabbed to death a businessman in New Kingston Monday afternoon.

Police report that at about 2:30pm a Chinese businessman Henry Hong was on his way to conduct transactions at a financial institution on Oxford Road when he was pounced upon by a lone robber.

“Reports received is that the he was stabbed in his back, chest and abdomen by his attacker,” Commander Christopher Murdock from the New Kingston Police Post, told the OBSERVER ONLINE.

The Police said the man then made his escape on a motorcycle.

The deadly attack comes three months after the Police High Command met with officials of the Chinese Embassy, Chinese businessmen and members of their civic groups to discuss the frequent attacks on Chinese nationals in Jamaica.

The Police during the meeting had assured the groups on steps being taken to deal with the issue.
