IT equipment stolen from Citizen Security Programme

On November 9th, 2013, a quantity of Information Technology equipment, including computers and related equipment was discovered missing from a storage area at the Citizen Security Programme (CSP) Office located at Ogle, East Coast Demerara.

A release from the Ministry of Home Affairs today said that some of the equipment from the IDB-funded project was earmarked for the New Forensic Laboratory. There was no detailed description of the losses. The Guyana Police Force is currently conducting investigations into the matter, the release said. The CSP programme was recently in the spotlight after it was alleged that money had been stolen from it by an official connected with the project.

Computers have also been stolen from another government project, the One Laptop Per Family Programme.
