The police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Outar Ramphal, 50 years, of Princetown, Corriverton, which occurred at about 2300h. last night at Princetown, Corriverton.
Investigations so far, police say, have revealed that four men, three of whom were armed with firearms, entered the house occupied by Phamphattie Ramphal, 74 years, and Outar Ramphal, 50 years, during which the victims were assaulted.
They were taken to the Skeldon Hospital where Outar Ramphal was pronounced dead on arrival, while Phampattie Ramphal was admitted.
The house was found ransacked, but nothing was reported to have been taken away so far.
Investigations are continuing.
