A former Toolsie Persaud Limited employee was yesterday accused of stealing over $1.5 million dollars in cement from the company.
Chetram Ramnarine pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
According to Prosecutor Bharat Mangru, Ramnarine, who was working as a clerk at the time, stole 1,056 sacks of cement, valued at $1,718,000 on April 9th, from the company.
Ramnarine was granted $250,000 bail and will return to Court on June 6th.
