Two Albion businessmen were this morning robbed of an undisclosed sum of cash as they were about to make a deposit at the Republic Bank Branch at Rose Hall, Corentyne, Berbice.
According to reports reaching this newspaper, the owner of Permaul Snackette of Albion and a man whose name was given only as ‘Rakesh’ were in the process of making a deposit at the bank when they were robbed.
The robbers subsequently escaped into the backdam and police in Berbice are at present scouring the area for them. More later.
