Sorrow comes in different ways ‒ gradually and suddendly.
The Taylor family was suddenly plunged into deep sorrow on January 31 when the wife and mother was found dead aback of their home in Public Road, Agricola their residence for a number of years, Donna was a very quiet and easy going woman, who served in the community of Agricola for twenty years as part of the Bibleway family. She worked with the hospitality team serving mainly in the senior citizens department, attending to the needs of the aged in the community from 1993-1996 ensuring that they had at least one hot meal per day five days a week. She also worked in the fund-raising department for all of her twenty years.
She was passionate in her desire to be of use in these particular areas and showed a devoted commitment to humanity.
I was Donna’s Pastor, friend and counsellor for all of the 20 of the 32 years I knew her; she inspired her children to a high standard of moral living, so much so that all three of her daughters are married and fairly well placed in life. All three are ardent followers of the Christian faith, and have been actively connected to helping children of the community to follow a path away from crime, directing them to a life of education and spiritual living. Mr Bertram Taylor the husband and father represented Guyana in rugby and served in the Guyana Defence Force. Bertram Jr is a security officer.
The community of Agricola, the church and the family have lost a tremendous woman; she would always exist in our hearts.
Goodnight Donna, not goodbye.
