The Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) will host its annual Novices Championships on April 6 at a venue to be announced subsequently. According to a press release from the federation, several suitable venues have been earmarked for the championships but one will be agreed upon shortly.The Novices Championships is a stepping stone for potential powerlifting stars to showcase their strength and talent. It is also the stage for seasoned junior athletes who will vie for the title of national junior powerlifting champion.Athletes interested in competing are asked to contact PRO, Paul Adams via telephone number 641-6021 or any other member of the executive.Registration fee stands at $1000. The deadline to register is March 28. Applicants are being urged to register on time so as to allow for the adequate provision of trophies in the respective categories.
