At about 0245h. today, the police say that three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, broke into a home at Cadet Lane, South Ruimveldt, where they confronted Mai Venezuela, 39 years, and her son Devon Venezuela, 19 years.
Police say that the victims put up resistance during which Mai Venezuela was shot and injured to her chin and Devon Venezuela was shot to his right foot and have been hospitalised. The perpetrators escaped.
Investigations are in progress.
