At about 1815h. yesterday, the police say that a motor lorry with a load of lumber and four persons seated on top of the lumber toppled while descending a hill along the Upper Demerara trail.
Sydney Higgins, 64 years, of South Amelia’s Ward, Linden, who was one of the four persons, was pinned under the lumber. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital Complex, police say.
Investigations are in progress.
