Clinton Vigilance, 45, was arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 2 on a charge that he kicked and cuffed Nikita Boodhoo about her head and body, with the intent to cause her bodily harm.

Vigilance pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Vigilance, in a bid to explain his actions, attempted to tell Magistrate Ann McLennan that Boodhoo’s failure to heed his warnings had driven him to his actions. Magistrate McLennan firmly told the man that there was no good reason for him to ever violently place his hands on a woman.

He was refused bail and the matter was adjourned to August 18th, when it is to be heard at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
