Number 66 bridge for repairs

The Number 66 steel truss bridge in Region Six will be undergoing rehabilitation, a process that is estimated to last six months, GINA said today. To ensure traffic flow, the bridge will be rehabilitated one side at a time, and there will be traffic officers present to guide vehicles.
Corrosion to the bridge was caused by salty water over the years and parts of the structure sustained damage during an accident. This project was recently advertised.
The bridge will be sandblasted and anti- corrosive paint used to protect it from the salty water.
The bridge stretches over a 100-foot creek and its rehabilitation is estimated to cost about $28.6M, GINA said.
