St Angela’s crush School of the Nations

St Angela’s Primary recorded the largest margin of victory to date in the fourth annual Courts Pee-Wee Under-11 football event, dismantling School of the Nations 10-0 in their final group fixture yesterday at the Thirst Park ground.

Leading scorer Keyon Douglas took his tally to 10 goals as he recorded a helmet trick in the 11th, 15th, 16th and 32nd minute. He was supported by Antonio McArthur who scored a double in the seventh and 18th minute and Nickone Dover who scored in the 12th and 20th minute.

Completing the score line with solo goals were Kenroy Cadogan and Seon Carto in the 13th and 39th minute respectively.

Similarly, St Margaret’s crushed St Ambrose by a 6-0 score line. Makhi Adams recorded a helmet trick in the third, fifth, 20th and 32nd minute while Josiah King netted a double in the seventh and 28th minute.

Unbeaten unit Enterprise Primary strolled their way into the knockout round, downing St Gabriel’s 3-0. Martin King, Garfield Caesar and Seon Archibald scored in the 26th, 27th and 28th minute respectively.

Likewise, former holders St Pius stormed their way into the knockout round, swamping Rama Krishna 6-0. Sherwin Nelson led the way with a double in the 13th and 25th minute while Sherwin Jones scored a brace in the 14th and 34th minute.

Sealing the win with individual goals were Brandon Selman and Kishawn Fraser in the seventh and 40th minute respectively. West Ruimveldt rebounded from their loss in the previous match day to defeat J.E. Burnham by a 4-0 score line.

Justin Persaud, Michael Oie, Delon Eastman and Tyrese Payne scored in the 10th, 15th, 30th and 38th minute.

Newcomers St Agnes secured their berth to the knockout round, downing Smith Memorial 2-0 compliments of goals from Daniel Pollard and Mwange Smith in the sixth and 23rd minute respectively.

Defending champs Stella Marris got back to winning ways, defeating Winfer Gardens by a 1-0 score line. Keshawn Andrews found the back of the net in the 29th minute to separate the two sides.

Dark Horses South Ruimveldt booked their berth in the knockout stages, edging St Stephens 1-0. Justin Bovell was the difference between the two sides as he found the back of the net compliments of a third minute strike.

In other results, F.E. Pollard relegated Marian Academy to their third consecutive loss, winning by a 2-1 margin. Terrence Pearson and Jamal December netted in the 19th and 33rd minute respectively. On target in the loss was Malik Barker in the 33rd minute.

Traditional giant Tucville Primary also secured their place in the next round, downing Sophia Primary 2-0. Rayheem Marques and Shaquille Sargeant scored with strikes in the 33rd and 35th minute respectively.

In the final round of results, Comenius Primary won via walkover against East La Penitence Primary while North Georgetown defeated St Sidwell’s via the identical route.

With the conclusion of the group round, St Pius, North Georgetown, Enterprise, Stella Maris, South Ruimveldt, West Ruimveldt, St Agnes, F.E. Pollard, St Margaret, St Ambrose, St Angela’s and Tucville automatically qualify for the round of 16 stage set for October 24th at the same venue.

Qualifying as the best third place finishers are Smith Memorial, St Stephens, Comenius and Winfer Primary respectively.
