On nearing the Monroe Road overpass, she lost control of her vehicle, and it struck the median.

Her vehicle became airborne and crossed onto the south-bound lane of the highway.

It landed on the top of a black Toyota Prado Landcruiser, which was being driven by Akaloo of Railway Road, Cunupia.

Akaloo’s friend, 18-year-old Rohan Rooplal of Charlieville, the front seat passenger in the Prado, narrowly escaped with his life. He suffered only lacerations to the face.
Both St Bernard and Akaloo died at the scene.
