Rohee, Mustapha tell police they have no evidence against allegedly corrupt cop

Cognisant of a press statement issued by the People’s Progressive Party in which the Party called for investigations into a matter of alleged corruption and criminal ties by a police officer, the police say that ranks of the Police Office of Professional Responsibility visited PPP Headquarters at Freedom House today with a view to interviewing officials.

Both the Party’s Executive Secretary Zulfikar Mustapha, who was met personally, and General Secretary Clement Rohee, who informed the police ranks through his Secretary, said that they had nothing of evidential value to offer, the police said in a press release today.

The police release said that the PPP had said that it was aware of audio and video recordings implicating the rank.

The police said that initially when the issue first arose through a broadcast on TV Channel 67, the News Reporter Travis Chase had also stated that he had nothing of evidential value to offer when approached by the police.
