$138m to be spent on Carifesta Avenue renewal

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MPI) yesterday advertised for $138M worth of works on Carifesta Avenue including lighting.

An advertisement in yesterday’s Guyana Chronicle described the project as `Urban renewal on Carifesta Avenue: Avenue of the Caribbean’.

It said the project was divided into two lots: lighting system and civil works. It said that the estimated cost of the two lots is $138m.

Bidding will be done through the National Competitive Bidding procedure specified in the Procurement Act of 2003.

The date for the submission of bids was not clear in the advertisement but the date for the opening of the bids is April 5th, 2016 at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board, Main and Urquhart Sts.
