Police are investigating the murder of Daveand Sanchar, 13 years, of Plantain Walk, Triumph, ECD, which occurred about 2330h. last night at Plantain Walk Access Road, Triumph, ECD.
Investigations, police say, revealed that Sanchar who was at a function in the said village, had an altercation with some men over a female. Sanchar subsequently left, and returned with a cutlass. A further argument ensued and it was alleged that one of the men took away the cutlass and dealt him a chop to his head. Whilst on the ground, he was given a severe beating with a stick, the police say.
The victim was rushed to the GPHC where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspects are all in custody assisting the police with the investigation.
