Ranks of the Joint Services this morning carried out a search in the Georgetown Prison and the undermentioned prohibited items were found, the police said. This haul comes just months after the police raided and found an even larger amounts of prohibited items.
a) Four hundred and forty-eight grams of narcotics
b) Eighteen cellular phones
c) Sixteen phone chargers
d) Thirty-nine improvised weapons
e) Thirty-nine lighters
f) Fifty-three packs of Bristol Cigarettes
g) One hundred and twenty-six razor blades
h) Fourteen sim cards
i) Three memory cards
The police have paid close attention to the prison following the unrest in March this year that resulted in a catastrophic fire that killed 17 inmates.
