against Bobb-Semple.

When asked if he had any final statements to give or if he would have liked to call any witnesses, Bobb-Semple indicated that he did not.

He was told by the magistrate that she was satisfied with the evidence the prosecution presented against him as it related to the murder and subsequently stated that he is to stand trial at the next sitting of the Demerara Assizes and is to remain on remand until that time.

Three days after he went missing, Gittens’ body was discovered in a trench off Cane View Avenue, South Ruimveldt Park. Gittens, who was reportedly wearing only the t-shirt he’d left home with, was found with his hands bound and in a state that indicated he had been a victim of sexual violence.

An autopsy report later revealed that Gittens died as a result of a compression injury to the neck and asphyxiation due to drowning.
