A woman is feared dead after a boat capsized on Saturday afternoon in the Puruni River, Region 7.
The missing woman has been identified as Barbara Hunte, 48, of D Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
Commander of F Division, Ravendradat Budhram last night told Stabroek News that the incident occurred at around 4 pm as the boat was heading to an interior location in Puruni.
He explained that a search party left since 5’ o clock yesterday morning to search for the woman, however, their efforts were fruitless.
Stabroek News understands that the woman left her home with the intention of working as a cook at a mining camp.
