GPOC will investigate allegations about Pomeroon mail delivery

Dear Editor,

The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) wishes to thank Mr Mohamed Khan for his letter published in the Stabroek News and captioned, ‘Irregular mail delivery in the Pomeroon.’

The corporation appreciates Mr Khan’s feedback since there were no prior reports against our mail delivery system in the Pomeroon River. The Charity Post Office has been conveying mail to the residents via a mail contractor on a weekly basis. Cluster boxes were also installed for residents of the Lower Pomeroon to conveniently access their mail.

Management will, however, launch an investigation into the writer’s allegations and convene meetings with residents of the Pomeroon River to address their concerns. Mr Khan is kindly asked to make contact with the Deputy Postmaster General on telephone number 227-7494.

Customers are encouraged to raise all inquiries with our Customer Services Department on telephone number 226-3127.

Yours faithfully,

Telesha Whyte
