Can’t get business line properly fixed since January

Dear Editor,

Since January 2016 after numerous complaints to a Mr Sheik Nizamudeen of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, New Amsterdam, about 339 2212 losing calls made to it, technicians came to my business to check out the connections. After replacing some wires the phone worked for two days and then it went dead.

Many reports were made via the GTT hotline 0907, and a Mr Singh promised to inform the technicians in New Amsterdam that they should correct the fault. They came and some work was done, after which the line worked for a few days. Every now and then 339 2212 receives calls, but then the calls are dropped before the conversation is over.

339 2212 is my business line and this has had a tremendously negative impact on my business. Since January 2016 to date I’ve been paying rental for non-functional services from GTT. Where do I go from here? I am at my wits end after this long wait with no relief.  There is a feeling from the technician that the problem is external, and the vibes I’m getting is that technicians are limited.

Yours faithfully,

Kumar Dudnath
