I must commend the Stabroek News for highlighting the plight of the persons living in Region 5 who are affected by flood waters. Hopefully, your articles of June 10 and 11 on this subject will motivate the relevant authorities to bring some much needed relief to these flood victims who are mostly farmers.
The Regional Chairman of Region 5, Mr Vickchand Ramphal, his Vice Chairman, Mr Rion Peters and myself visited several affected villages in Region 5 yesterday, including several villages along the Mahaicony Creek.
