Two McDonald columns were literary treasures

Dear Editor,

On Sunday, July 3 and Sunday July 10, your readership was treated to two beautiful articles under the column, ‘Ian On Sunday’. The columnist, Dr Ian McDonald, who is an eminent poet and writer, deserves kudos for the articles ‘Great poetry speaks to us’ and ‘Governing for the best.’

These two well-crafted literary treasures were refreshing, informative and thought provoking. This is an example of the quiet but quality work which can help to stimulate an appetite for reading, especially in the younger generation. This is so much needed in this country at this time.

I thank Dr McDonald for his enduring gifts.

Yours faithfully,

Lloyd H Marshall
