Good Hope bridge is in a dangerous state

Dear Editor,

The main access bridge for Good Hope on the ECD is falling apart; it has got so bad now that the boards are falling off, leaving huge holes on the bridge. This is not only dangerous for drivers but for everyone who traverses the bridge daily.

Editor, efforts have been made to get the NDC to look at the bridge for three months now, but it is still an outstanding issue. I thought that with the long awaited local government elections, the NDC would be more proactive and responsive to requests, but so far there is no sign of help from the NDC. If they had acted sooner the bridge could have been patched up at a lower cost, but now a heavy sum will have to be invested to fix it.

The previous government failed Good Hope, and it is not a secret that Good Hope residents continue voting for the PPP at both national and regional elections, and they continue to disappoint. I am pleading for someone from central government to urgently look into this issue, before someone loses a limb or worse.

Yours faithfully,

N Bacchus
